Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) originally developed in Russia based on the amino acid composition of epithalamin, a bovine pineal gland extract. Research has studied epitalon’s bioregulatory mechanisms, including its antioxidant, neuroprotective, and antimutagenic effects. Studies indicate epitalon may modulate melatonin synthesis pathways and telomerase activity in vitro and in vivo models.
